A civil defence corp member, in convoy of Chief Abel Ebifemowei alias OSUO1, who was said to be intoxicated while on duty, has allegedly shot dead a male year one Niger Delta University Student, Obinna, in the Efeke ama area of Amassoma community, Bayelsa State.
Report says the Civil defence corp member who was in company of other police officers, stormed the usual karaoke bar, at Efeke-Ama, Amassoma, where his gun failed and led to the accidental discharge of three bullets into the victim, who was returning from study at the said time.
Reports further say the suspect in company of other police officers, escorted Chief Abel Ebifemowei to the Karaoke bar, in a branded Senator Heineken Lokpobiri gubernatorial campaign vehicle, adding that the suspect (officer), and the branded vehicle, has been arrested by operatives of the Amassoma Police division while investigations are ongoing.
The corpse of the year one Niger Delta University student simply identified as Obinna from the faculty of Engineering, Petrochemical department was rushed to Tantua hospital, while the security agents and Chief Abel Ebifemowei, narrowly escaped being lynched by a mob of angry students.
However latest information available reveal that Chief Abel Ebifemowei, who is also one of the campaign directors in the Lokpobiri gubernatorial bid, has denied having any connection with the suspect.
